The Abbey Theatre has been in existence since 1904 and has been associated with the Irish Literary Revival and staged the plays of W.B Yeats, Lady Gregory, John Millington Synge and Seán O'Casey among others.
In more recent years, as well as featuring the plays of these authors, it has staged plays by Brian Friel, Hugh Leonard , Tom Murphy and others and many of thes productions were brought on tour.
